“Water Discus Underwater Hotel”, by Deep Ocean Technology
The city of Dubai will shortly welcome another innovation. The Water Discus Hotel, designed by Poland-based Deep Ocean Technology will be made of two discs: one under and one above the water one. Three solid legs and a vertical shaft containing a lift and stairways connect the two structures. Guests will enjoy watching the depths of the ocean as they fall asleep or taking a bath on the upper deck.

“Twenty-one hotel rooms are submersed in the center of a vibrant coral reef with enchanting views of sea life, illuminated with special lighting systems, and offer the use of miniature underwater vehicles equipped with macro photography, operated from your suite, to provide a closer look at the tiniest of creatures. Due to the innovative design comprising individual modules that can be detached and replaced with new ones, Water Discus can also be expanded into a bigger resort complex, and may be constructed and reconstructed anywhere in the world, creating opportunities to live underwater on a permanent basis in an unlimited string of locations.”

Deep Ocean Technology was founded in 2010 to constructing underwater hotels; designing manned and remotely operated underwater vehicles and designing deep-sea equipment for seabed exploration at small and large depths. The company collaborates with scientists and engineers from the Faculty of Ocean Engineering and Ship Technology, Gdańsk University of Technology and relies on manufacturing capabilities of both Polish and international shipyards and equipment producers.
