“Wooden Light Bulb”, by Ryosuke Fukusada

Japanese designer Ryosuke Fukusada has mixed traditional Japanese woodworking techniques with modern technology to create this “Wooden Light Bulb”.

“The LED device is wrapped by wooden shell which is chipped until minimum thickness with Japanese ‘ROKURO’ technique. The socket is done by aluminum that suits wood with modern impression.”

This project was awarded with the Kyoto renaissance design competition and is still under development
